Champagne Project This page is solely dedicated to the ongoing COD and eventual entry into the ND breed by a very popular color. It is called Champagne, it has been crossed over from the full sized rabbits with the silvering gene and worked until the right dwarf type was achieved. The main person in this country on information about them is Mr. Joe Powers the actual COD holder from ARBA. He is going to be doing his first full showing of them at the 2011 ARBA convention. Until then he has been spreading the color around as best he can. There are lucky few of us in the US right now that have Champagnes in our bunny barn. Thus I feel honored to be one of the few. Below are all the bunnies associated with my Champagne program here at OCD. I look to be in this color for MANY years to come. Some are considering spreading the silvering gene to some other colors such as chocolate and chestnut. Dreamcatcher's JAAFAR/JP9 This is an F1 cross between a Champagne and a Black...the only other color you are supposed to breed a Champagne. Nice little doe, very calm and easy to work around.
DreamCatcher's AZIZ/JP0 This is my Champagne buck. He is from Joe Powers import stock and I am going to be working with him in the coming months to get my own Champagne line up and running. He may be traded or on loan out to a couple other breeders of Champagnes in the Northeast so that we can all extend our stock lines. DreamCatcher's 'AOLANI/JP0 This is a Champagne Jr. doe from the same litter as Aziz. She, along with Jaafar will be the foundation for my entire Champagne line to start with. I am looking forward to getting a chance to breed her back to Aziz for one time. That is still a long ways off though as she is only a touch over 8 weeks old right now.
